We generally enjoy Harry & David’s basket but this particular basket had some inconsistencies that knocked it from a 5 star to a 4 star.
An appealing mix of relatively mainstream items should please your average gift recipient. Our personal favorites were: extra sharp cheese, pepper and onion relish and mixed nuts. There were a couple of inconsistencies in the basket from their description on their website, namely the Moose Munch had no chocolate in it and the chocolate covered bing cherries were not in the basket but rather Orchard Petite Candies, which were like sour ball candies (think Lemonheads or Sour Balls) flavored apple and pear.
Previous Harry & David baskets we received had, hands down, the best pears we have ever tasted. We tried to order the basket this year at peak season but the pears were not their regular Royal Riviera but weak sauce Bartletts with paper thin skin and comparatively bland flesh. Half of the apples were surprisingly mealy. Harry & David has a very generous return policy - so if you aren’t satisfied let them know.
